Lead me, guide me, Walk beside me.

I was getting ready for class last week. This generally consists of me running around and scrambling while I attempt to gather my belongings. Last Thursday during my scramble I had my laptop open at the same time and I was on a constant hunt for a summer plan (either a job, or an internship or just something to keep me busy). This search became hectic and I became extremely overwhelmed and wanted to nothing more than to collapse into a ball and cry. I did end up collapsing, but instead of admitting defeat, I fell to my knees in prayer. Instead of praying for a job or internship or even direction the only thing I could think to pray for was peace, and comfort. As soon as I had closed my prayer, I stood up, wiped a few tears and saw my set of scriptures sitting on my coffee table. I knew I had to read before I ran to class. I opened my scriptures started to flip through pages to find to the Doctrine and Covenants section 78.
As I read, the words of verse 18 seemed to leap off the page at me.

This is what I read:

"And ye cannot bear all things now; nevertheless, be of good cheer for I will lead you along. The kingdom is yours and the blessings thereof are yours, and the riches of eternity are yours".

I realized that in reading this, Heavenly Father was answering my prayer. I quickly learned that I cannot take on life alone but if I stay faithful to The Lord, I can draw closer to him. My frame of mind shifted and I realized I need to stop looking at what I can't do and start to focus on what I CAN do.
I can read my scriptures daily
I can keep the commandments
I can choose what worldly media I expose my self to
and above all:
I can always talk to my Father in Heaven and know that He always hears me.When I do these things, I know The Lord will lead me along. He has a promise to his children that if we take care of ourselves and follow what He would have us do, he will never leave us alone.

As sung in my favorite hymn "Fear not, I am with thee, O be not dismayed. For I am thy God and will still give thee aide".

I know that this is true. I can testify with the absolute fullness of my heart the Heavenly Father has a plan as as long as we stay faithful to Him he will always provide a way for us to reach our goals. I am so grateful for prayer, and the peace we can receive from the scriptures, and I leave these thoughts with you and the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
